Deconstructing the Lily Dress

Deconstructing the Lily Dress

In the second of our ‘deconstructing the dress’ series, we are going to look at the Lily Dress and how its cleverly cut panels allow lots of volume and make it truly unique. One of our much-loved styles, the Lily Dress is perfect for parties with its full skirt and layers of tulle. We love the big side bow in contrasting colour cotton. Lily dress looks luxurious and fun all in one.

As most of our dresses do, the Lily started as a sketch. We envisioned a large statement bow on one side and an asymmetric hem showing off layers of tulle and a contrast colour underskirt.

We wanted this dress is to be a statement dress for the party season. The navy and light blue colour way makes it classic and modern but still fun and playful with the oversized bow that is fixed in place.

This seasons Lily fits into the ‘classic blue’ story of our collection. Other dresses in the story are the Christine Dress, the Adonia dress in stripes and the Squiggle dress in stripes. We love this cool blue and navy or beige combination. We feel it is a fresh take on autumn winter and offers a different dynamic to our red Snowflake Check Christmas story.
