AW’16 – Voyage to the Milky Way
Milky Ways and Starry Nights are the key moods of this season. Inspired by the rich blast of colours in the sky, this has been interpreted in a fun, Jessie and James way.
The cosmic-esque lace is a story, has been inspired from our spectacular galaxy. Jessie’s hand-drawn lace print from AW’15 has been re-worked to create a print filled with golden, glowing stars, glamorous jewels and paisley patterns to mimic the sky which sees no limits.
Classics including the Starlet Dress have been refreshed with our Starry Night print for a cool new look. We also see the return of our Princess Coat. This time we have chosen a more muted colour palette. Opting for a pale grey to compliment the navy blue in our Starry print.
This year’s seasonal story is our red ‘snowflakes’ check fabric. A high quality cotton and beautifully woven with tiny white polka dots really puts us in the mood for Christmas! Our Little Riding Jacket and Shorts have been bought to life again with the help of an intricate embroidered flower crown crest; inspired by vintage fairytale books.
We also introduce a new style, the Scallop Dress. A fitted jersey body with a puff ball skirt and oversized bow, which fits with our theatrical themes for this season.
We took influence from the theatre and Ballet Rue. We enjoyed the drama of the costumes and the details of the interiors. Combining these elements allowed us to get creative with exciting new silhouettes and details like oversized bows, ruffles and frilly edges and volumes of fabric on our skirts. We increased the glamour by adding crystal embellishments to some of our styles for that extra bit of twinkle in the sky.
